I know this blog specifically targets the potent topic of hair but I thought I’d share this info to help folks like myself.
Suffering from acne and stubborn dark spots on your face?
Well look no further, here is a regimen that will blast those puppies away.
Like anything else it requires time and consistency but once done you would not regret it.
If you follow this regimen I assure you that your face will be clear in no time.
Let us begin!
- Face Cleansing
It is important that you cleanse your face properly to get rid of all the dirt and oil. I use PanOxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Foaming Wash. A little goes a long way so you will not have to purchase often. This wash does a great job at cleansing my face and it also contains an ingredient that helps diminish dark spots. The two ingredients in this face cleanser that makes it a worthwhile purchase are the 10 %benzoyl peroxide (for the acne) and glycolic acid (for the dark spots). Yes folks this is like your own chemical peel face wash. Now it is important to note that the strength of benzoyl peroxide can be very drying on your face, so it is imperative that you keep your face well moisturized.
Sometimes I also throw in a face scrub to help get rid of any impurities and dead skin. To do so I use Grace Cole Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Face Scrub. I give my face a scrub once a week.
This step is done directly after you cleanse but before applying your moisturizer. For this process I use Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Toner. It uses a microclear technology that fights breakout in under 8 hours and fades the look of post-acne scars. Now let me tell you first hand that this product does exactly what it says. Like the face wash this toner also contains glycolic acid to fade those stubborn dark spots. It also contains 2% Salicylic acid which fights those breakouts as they occur.
Now of course when using products that contain an alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) like glycolic acid it is important that you use a sunscreen since your skin’s sensitivity would have been increased. So to do so I use Cetaphil Derma Control Oil Control Moisturizer which acts as a sunscreen with 30 SPF, it controls oil as it is specifically formulated for acne-prone skin while providing the necessary moisture to my face. Seems like a win, win situation to me. It is a tad pricey but like the face cleanser a little goes a long way so you do not have to purchase regularly.
For some extra lightening properties as far as dark spots go I also use Himalaya Herbals fairness Cream. It also doubles a moisturizer and it effectively protects your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
For those days that I feel the need to conceal those stubborn dark spots I use Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. This BB cream is lightweight and contains 2% Salicylic acid. So I get to cover up my acne while treating it at the same time. How great is that!
Now there you have it my ultimate acne guide.
